Before the cameras
Long before any film set, there was a dance studio in Georgia. Briana started training at five and never really stopped: jazz, ballet, modern, hip-hop. By college she was good enough to teach, and disciplined enough to turn professional.
She danced for an NHL team’s crowd and for the Atlanta Hawks’ A-Town Dancers, four seasons of long rehearsals, bright lights and 18,000-seat arenas. It taught her how to hold a room, and how to ignore everything except the performance.
The parody era
The parody wave of the early 2010s needed performers who could actually act, and dancers who were funny on cue. Blair’s timing and energy fit the format perfectly; she turned up in spoofs of the biggest shows and films of the day, and the comedy scripts let her show range her straight scenes never asked for.
Why she still gets searched
Her last credits are years old, yet people still search her name. The cheerleader years, the Hustler cover and the athlete’s discipline on set explain why.
